John Giorno

April 28, 2016

The Moore Building, Miami's Design District

ICA Miami and O, Miami presents poet and performance artist John Giorno.

Star of Andy Warhol’s seminal film Sleep (1963) and collaborator with everyone from William S. Burroughs to Robert Moog to Patti Smith, Giorno has been at the center of experimental American art for six decades.

Giorno’s reading is preceded by a reading by poet Ryan Van Winkle and a special presentation by Miami’s own Obsolete Media Miami (OMM), the film and slide based archive curated by artists Kevin Arrow and Barron Sherer.

OMM presents a 16mm film and changing 35mm slide installation utilizing three slide screens of various sizes set upon the staircase, (108) 35mm slides, 16mm Andy Warhol screen tests from the MOMA Circulating library and vintage polarized slides.
